March Students of the Month
Tri County Technology Center students Amber McGrory and Amy Neafus have been selected as the Downtown Kiwanis Club Students of the Month.
High School Student
Amber McGrory 
- Amber is a senior at Barnsdall High School and in the Marketing Management program at TCTC.
- She was a junior officer for DECA, and is now CEO of the DECA Executive Council. She is also in charge of the recruitment committee and helped fellow student, Megan Duncan, with her State Officer Campaign.
- Amber was one of the three coordinators of the Lemonade project and served on the planning committee for both Leadership conferences.
- She was a National DECA qualifier two years in a row.
- "Amber is an outstanding young woman that is honest, trustworthy and a great leader," says Jenni Haynes, Marketing Management Instructor. "It is rare that you find a student as well rounded as Amber."
- To attend Northeastern State University.
- She would like to major in fashion merchandising with a possiblity of a second degree in advertising.
- Amber had perfect attendance in 2007 and was selected as a Student of the Month in 2007 as well. Other accomplishments she has earned include: Superintendents Honor Roll, National Technical Honor Society, Cheer Captain, Homecoming attendant, Student Council member, Senior Class President, Honor Roll, and Honor Society.
- In her free time, she has volunteered at Mary Martha's Outreach, changed Christmas lights in Barnsdall, participated in Angel Tree projects, picked up trash on the highway, and helped organize several canned food drives.
Adult Student
Amy Neafus 
- Amy will complete the Practical Nursing program in May.
- She is the Secretary of the Health Occupations Student Association.
- Amy has had perfect attendance throughout the entire nursing program.
- She is a member of the National Technical Honor Society and has a 4.0 GPA.
- "She is an exceptional nursing student," says Ruth Howell, Practical Nursing Instructor. "She is not only a natural in the medical field, but she is determined to be the very best."
- To continue her education at the University of Oklahoma and receive her RN/BSN license.
- She would like to work in the field of obstetrics or pediatrics.
- Amy participated in the Washington County Flu Clinics, as well as a health clinic at Wal-Mart.
- She has participated in several fundraisers for the March of Dimes.
