Luke Buhlinger Spotlight
  • Luke is a junior at Bartlesville High School and a student in the Marketing Management program at Tri County.
  • According to his instructor, Carrie Miller, "Luke is an outstanding young-he is honest, trustworthy and a great leader in our class and DECA Chapter.  In addition to be ing a full-time high school student, he holds a part-time job at Food Pyramid and is an Eagle Scout leader.  I am often amazed at all he can accomplish."
Goals:
  1. To be as educated as possible.
  2. Be a good student.
  3. Help as many people as possible with service work and entertainment.
  • According to Luke, "Times are stressful for so many, so my personal goal is to make sure I make things considerably more fun and easy.  I want to make you smile."
  • Recently, Luke co-wrote an in-depth 30-page research paper on how a local grocery store could increase their popularity in the community with the use of social media.  He then had to present the research findings before a judge at the State Contest.
  • Special accomplishments he has received include:  achieving the Eagle rank in the Boy Scouts of America; placing first in the Oklahoma State Science Fair for the Health and Medical category; successfully organizing and leading a 14-day survival expedition through New Mexico; organizing and implementing a service project that took over 207 labor hours.  He is also CPR and lifeguard certified.
  • Luke was selected as the student representative for his Tri County class to facilitate the recruitment of new students.  He also has an upcoming project to work with one of the counselors at Tri County on a project to promote anti-bullying.
  • In his spare time, Luke is very involved with the Boy Scouts of America.
  • He has participated and conducted many peaceful protests across Oklahoma and enjoys being involved in local politics.
  • Luke has also volunteered several hours at Agapa' Mission, the Salvation Army, and the National MS Society.
