Whitney Hindman Spotlight - Adult Student of the Year
- Whitney was a student in the University of Oklahoma Dental Hygiene program located at Tri County Technology Center.
- According to her instructor, Abbie Gustafson, “Whitney exemplifies every aspect of the model student. She has maintained a 4.0 GPA throughout her college prerequisites and has continued to do so through the Dental Hygiene program at the University of Oklahoma. She is an outstanding clinician and shows respect for the courses and instructors both at the Tri County Technology Center site as well as the main campus."
- Go to work at a private practice within the local community and provide quality care to all of her patients.
- Her personal goal is to become more independent.
- Whitney was a member of the Business Professionals of America student organization from 2005 to 2007. She placed 1st at the 2007 State BPA Leadership Conference and 3rd at the National BPA Leadership Conference for her presentation over "Time Management."
- Special accomplishments she has achieved include: President's Honor Roll at the University of Oklahoma, 2009-2010; President's Honor Roll at Rogers State University, 2007-2009; and Superintendent's Honor Roll at Tri County Technology Center, 2005-2007.
- Whitney has also been awarded the Cherokee Nation Higher Education Scholarship from 2009-2011; the Allied Dental Scholarship from 2010-2011; and the Delaware Tribe of Indians Trust Fund Higher Education Scholarship from 2009-2010.
- She spends time volunteering for the American Red Cross, Churches United for Community Concern, and the Green Country Free Clinic.
- Whitney has also spent her free time participating in Smile Safari; Special Smiles at the 2010 Special Olympics; and the Oklahoma Oral Cancer Awareness Walk.
