2006-2007 Students of the Year
Tri County Technology Center students Jimmy Gose and Cliff Haley have been selected as the 2006-2007 Students of the Year.
High School Student
Jimmy Gose
- Senior in Pre-Engineering and at Oklahoma Union High School
- According to his instructor, Angela Barnes, “Jimmy is a rare find among our American High Schools. He is self-driven, highly motivated, incredibly intelligent, sincere, honest, passionate, committed and above all humble.”
- Goals (consist of but are not limited to): Double major in Aerospace and Mechanical Engineering with a minor in physics or mathematics at the University of Missouri – Rolla and later pursue a career in the engineering field.
- Major contributor to F.I.R.S.T. Robotics, team captain of the chasis body and drive train of the robot.
- 3 time OUHS Student of the Month, TCTC Student of the Month last year, member of the Regional, State and National Range team,
- Member of: National Honor Society, National Technical Honor Society, Fellowship of Christian Athletes, FFA, Tri County Tech Ambassadors, and been an officer in many of the organizations listed.
- Contributed over 65 hours of Hurricane Katrina relief with FFA, assisted with purchasing and delivering gifts to needy families.
Adult Student
Cliff Haley
- Will complete the Precision Machining program in April. From Bartlesville.
- According to his instructor, James Cowart, he is a model student. He has been an inspiration to the other students in that he is always trying new things. He will be one of those students that Mr. Cowart will remember for years to come.
- Goals are to secure a promising career and successful future in his occupation and home life.
- President of the Precision Machining SkillsUSA organization
- Previous team member of the State Champion Cross Country team class 4A in Shawnee, Percussion captain of the High School Band and a student ambassador to Shawnee’s “Sister City” Nikako, Akita, Japan.
- Hospice volunteer, youth church choir, church mission trips, coached upward bound basketball
