January Students of the Month
Tri County Technology Center students Ashley Tilton and Melissa Smith have been selected as the Downtown Kiwanis Club January Students of the Month.
High School Student
Ashley Tilton
- Senior in Business Computer Technology and at Barnsdall High School.
- According to her instructor, Carrie Miller, Ashley is a hard worker, respectful and a bright young lady.
- Goals: Graduate High School in May and receive her certificate in Business Computer Technology as an Information Specialist. She plans to attend Rogers State University and major in Business eventually obtaining a bachelor’s degree in accounting.
- Parliamentarian of Business Professionals of America
- “A” Honor Roll, Student of the month for January at Barnsdall High School, Employee of the Month at work
- Volunteered with: Fantasy Land of Lights, Angel Tree, donated blood, visited a Nursing home, watch the nursery at a local church, clean up around the High School
Adult Student
Melissa Smith
- Junior in the Dental Hygiene program from Wilburton
- According to her instructor, Abbie Gustafson, she not only maintains a 4.0 GPA in a very rigorous academic program, she is also a class officer and at 20 years old, is the youngest in the program. Melissa is a very mature, organized and obviously intelligent, well grounded individual who represents Tri County very well.
- Goals: complete a bachelor’s degree in dental hygiene and fulfill a career in dental hygiene serving those unable to receive adequate oral healthcare and therefore enhance the lives of the less fortunate and improve the overall health of our communities.
- Secretary/treasurer for her class as well as the Student Dental Hygiene Association.
- Achieved the Dean’s Honor Roll several semesters during her collegiate career and has received nominations from local and national honor societies.
