September Students of the Month
Tri County Technology Center students Renda Brown, Dewey and Marilyn Hunt, Ochelata, have been selected as the Downtown Kiwanis Club September Students of the Month.
High School Student
Renda Brown

- Junior in Health Science Technology/Dewey High School
- According to her instructor, Cena Clancy, her academic performance and clinical skills are excellent. Her positive attitude and ethical standards make her a pleasure to have as a student, and a role model for other students.
- HOSA secretary and chairperson of the communication committee
- Goals are to major in pre-med at OWU and become a physician’s assistant missionary
- Junior class representative, presidential awards, competed in the state band contest, member of Who’s Who and Honor Society of America
- Highest scores on Kansas and Oklahoma state tests and has managed to move to three different high schools/states and maintain good grades and attitude.
- Deeply involved in the Sooner Park Wesleyan church, volunteered at local rescue mission to sing and OWU outreach and family events.
Adult Student
Marilyn Hunt

- Completed the Cosmetology program recently.
- From Ochelata
- According to her instructor, Lisa Meyer, she is and has always been their perfect student. She is dependable, thoughtful of others, and very helpful to other students.
- Goals are to complete her bachelor of science in business management at Rogers State in 2006 then work toward her MBA and Cosmetology Teacher degree. She plans to own her own cosmetology school eventually.
- Held the office of Chaplin, a member of National Technical Honor Society, Betty Crocker Home Maker of Tomorrow award, OHCE scholarship and Otha Grimes Scholarship recipients
- Boy Scout troop leader, adult choir Sunday School teacher, and vacation bible school assistant director at her church, volunteers at Kane School, ARC, Salvation Army and Jane Phillips Medical Center.
