November Students of the Month
Tri County Technology Center students Amanda Martin and Cliff Haley have been selected as the Downtown Kiwanis Club November Students of the Month.
High School Student
Amanda Martin
- Junior in Graphic Communications and at Bartlesville High School
- According to her instructor, Susan Peterson, She is at the top of her class. She shows a lot of initiative and is eager to learn and regularly volunteers to work in the shop.
- Goals: attend UCO for Graphic Arts and would like to have a career designing posters and advertisements.
- Member of SkillsUSA, worked on the United Way cookbook and helped collect and distribute Thanksgiving food baskets to 30 Tri County students.
- Received a national math award and on several 4.0 honor rolls. Second year National Honor Society member and was recently invited to Lead America, youth leadership conference in Washington, D.C.
- Involved in youth group and service/volunteer projects with church, went to Texas and Louisiana to help rebuild homes.
Adult Student
Cliff Haley
- Will complete the Precision Machining program in April. From Bartlesville.
- According to his instructor, James Cowart, he is a model student. He has been an inspiration to the other students in that he is always trying new things. He will be one of those students that Mr. Cowart will remember for years to come.
- Goals are to secure a promising career and successful future in his occupation and home life.
- President of the Precision Machining SkillsUSA organization
- Previous team member of the State Champion Cross Country team class 4A in Shawnee, Percussion captain of the High School Band and a student ambassador to Shawnee’s “Sister City” Nikako, Akita, Japan.
- Hospice volunteer, youth church choir, church mission trips, coached upward bound basketball.
