Hunter Safety Course
This is the state course offered by the Oklahoma Department of Wildlife. The
classes all start at 8am sharp and break for lunch on their own from 12-1pm.
The recommended youngest age to take the Hunter Safety is 9 or 10 years old.

Basic Internet
This course will teach you how to get around on the internet. You will explore
search engines and play with email. You will also learn about Media Player.
This course is based on the Windows XP operating system. 10 hrs $99
Graphic Design for Publications
This class will cover the fundamentals of design for page layout. If you have
ever been interested in laying out newsletters and such, this is the class
for you! Design principles and composition techniques and procedures utilizing
page layout and drawing software. The software used will be QuarkXpress.

Medical Transcription
This class is designed to enable participants to type a variety of medical
records using correct medical terminology, use of approved medical abbreviations,
medications, anatomy and physiology. Prerequisites include medical terminology
and/or medical background to acquaint with medical terminology. Experience
with Microsoft Word and keyboarding skills are very important. The course
consists of auditory tapes of actual medical providers dictating their patient’s
complete medical record, which is then listened to by the student and typed
to report form, utilizing Microsoft Word. The material included in this course
includes a vast variety of disease processes, procedures and treatment plans.
This class should prepare the student to pursue a vocation in medical transcription
involving all patient settings. 96 hrs $550
Basic Phlebotomy
This course will emphasize the
skills necessary to properly draw blood specimens by venipuncture and capillary
puncture; and the proper handling of the specimen for clinical laboratory
testing. Issues dealing with patient contact, medical ethics and legal problems
will be discussed. Anatomy and physiology of the vascular system as they
pertain to Phlebotomy will be reviewed. The student will be trained for an
entry level job. It does not meet the requirement for certification. (40
hrs.)
Basic Guard Training (Phase 1 & 2)
This course
gives students basic training required by Oklahoma law to pass certification
for security guards. The course covers interpreting the Oklahoma Security
Guard Act, performing first aid techniques, operating a fire extinguisher
and fire fighting equipment, writing field notes and reports, interpreting
legal powers and limitations, public relations, performing fixed post duties,
patrolling, and investigating security incidents. (45 hrs.)
