Self-Employment Training
Want to learn the in's and out's of being self-employed?
TCTC has a Certified Small Business Incubator program and specific courses
designed just for you!
The Self-Employment Training (SET) program was developed to offer professional assistance and guidance especially for those people who have dreamed of starting their own business, but may not have the skills, information, or resources.
The program features one-on-one consultation, classroom instruction and participation, and seminars with business leaders in the community.

This is an open enrollment program that interested persons may begin a session on any date if space is available. Group sessions begin in January, May and October.
Tuition cost of $169 may be shared by two people working on the same project and includes a textbook and workbook that are focused on the written business plan for your business.
Guest speakers are respected professionals with real world experience and cover topics such as:
- Common traps for a new business
- Legal issues and business formation
- Record keeping and accounting
- Business insurance
- Customer service and sales attitudes
- Commercial financing
- Marketing and advertising
- Goal settings and time management
- EBusiness and technology applications
