“We were able to customize our full-time Graphic Communications program to the needs of the Osage Nation and provide this training to their staff in about three weeks,” said Mike Boon, Director of Employee Services at TCTC.
The training has allowed Tribal employees to move deeper into acquiring tribal printing opportunities and purchase additional equipment as well as learn how to use it efficiently. Wah Zha Zhi Press Operations acquired a plotter, cutter, envelope printers, laminator, as well as a stronger color printer.
According to Eddy Red Eagle, Jr., “we would not have been able to do that without the training and effort of Tri County giving us the springboard into the printing industry. This has given us the confidence to enter further into the printing element.”
“In reality, we’ve made this transition in a very short time due to TCTC leading us through the initial phases of the printing functions and the learning curve. We’ve moved a number of workers through our Press and on to full-time employment with the Tribe, in other departments. That’s one of the “win / win” elements of our efforts. We get to see the employee mature into a productive employee and the Cultural Center get the credit of being a place to work that can help others in their working career,” Red Eagle continued.
“We are totally satisfied with the quality, professionalism and thoroughness of the training,” said Red Eagle. “The training is money well spent and we look forward to future efforts with TCTC.”
The team also received training in time management, teambuilding, teamwork, communication, Microsoft® user products and process charting.
Tri County Technology Center’s Economic and Community Development team can customize any training program to fit your business need with the flexibility of on-site training or use of the TCTC campus.
