Cosmetology (COS)

Cosmetologists perform a variety of services which cover all phases of the beauty culture from manicuring, shampooing, hair styling, and make-up application, to temporary and permanent hair waving, hair strengthening, bleaching and tinting, and various skin and scalp treatments.  Cosmetologists often specialize in one or more of these areas.  The cosmetology industry has evolved into an increasingly complex and artistic profession.  Strong human relations skills and the ability to communicate with people are of major importance.  The hands-on instruction combined with the practical experience provided by the program helps each student be prepared to take the State Board of Cosmetology Licensing exam.

How To Enroll

The program is open to High School and Adult Students with new classes beginning each Fall. Classes run August through May/June. Adult students may enroll on a competitive basis at each quarter or semester if openings are available. Applications are accepted year-round
