Tri County Technology Center Full-Time Day Programs Admissions Checklist

STEP 1     Register for COMPASS test (or provide scores from last two years) OR submit ACT scores (ACT scores may be substituted if test has been taken within two years of program start date.)   Registration for the COMPASS may be done by printing the assessment registration form online and returning it via mail or in person with $20.00 or by returning the form via mail or in person with $20.00.  Individuals will indicate the preferred testing date based off our testing dates available.  Once registered for the COMPASS test, student will complete COMPASS on scheduled date. Students will earn points based on how well they score on the COMPASS test.  Selection for TCTC programs are competitive and test scores are an important factor. Therefore, students with scores in any area that are not near the top of the scale should consider re-testing.  Students may re-test once before the testing deadline.  After the second attempt, students must wait at least six months to take a third time.  Following the third attempt on the COMPASS, students must wait a minimum of six months on each successive attempt.  Students will meet with Enrollment Advisor immediately following testing session.

STEP 2     On the date of the COMPASS test, students will be required to complete an application for admission.  Within the application, the student will complete a list of interview questions.  The interview questions will be scored and given a point value.

STEP 3     Following the testing deadline, candidates will be asked to submit:

                  A.  Two/Three (depending on program) letters of recommendation

                  B.  Resume

                  C.  Official transcripts for either a high school diploma or G.E.D.

                  D.  Other documentation as requested

These items will be reviewed and given a points score.  Enrollment Advisor will notify applicants of deadline to submit these documents.

Points will be assigned and totaled for test scores, application interview questions, and material submission.  Those with the hightest total points will be selected for available openings in the program of choice.

Selection for a full-time day program at Tri County Technology Center depends on available openings, completion of the items on the admissions checklist, meeting all deadlines, and receiving satisfactory COMPASS/ACT scores.
